As many as you want, most students take it 2–3 times for best results.
The SAT score is valid for a lifetime. However, some schools prefer scores from the past 1-5 years from the test date.

SAT scores are available in about 2 weeks for Saturday tests and 3–4 weeks for in-school weekday tests.
